Many steps are required to start a non-profit organization, and much gratitude is due to all who help. With their advice, labor, goods or services.
On donated property on Richter Road in Menlo, overlooking Willapa Valley School and across Viking Way from the Pacific County Fairgrounds, was a small and useless old building, which disposal presented a problem.
We thank Chief Tom Betrozoff and his crew at the Raymond Fire Department who were able to make use of a building for fire fighting practice. It was necessary to wait until it was really raining hard before they could do a burn so close to trees, and would take about 60 days, said Captain Betrozoff in early September with fall rains due. Because of the drought of 2002, however, they didn't finish until mid-March 2003. At last, it was gone.
Willapa Valley Grange #527 in the beginning provided meeting space and more. Time, effort, skills and advice have been and continue to be provided by many others, often anonymously. Please see also Schedule . . . Business Links . . . Terrorism . . . Enough! and Eleanor Roosevelt Day
